Angela Midea Ciocca, 88, passed away peacefully at home on December 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Macchiagodena, Isernia, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Benedetto & Maria (Gentile) Midea.
Angela grew up in Italy and married the love of her life, Felice Ciocca, on June 29, 1953. In December of 1955 they immigrated to the United States arriving in New York City. They settled in Springfield with family and friends. In 1975 they moved to West Springfield into a beautiful home Felice made for his loving wife and kids where they had lived ever since.
Angela was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was affectionately called "Nonni" by all of her family and friends. She was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress for years at Gemini Corp., then as a kitchen aide at Ring Nursing Home.
Angela enjoyed gardening, music, dancing and especially cooking for and spending time with her loving family. She truly had a full and beautiful life. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Springfield.
Along with her parents & husband, Angela was predeceased by her sister, Stella, and brothers-in-law, Antonio & Louis Ciocca, and Domenico Fantone.
She leaves behind her loving children, Anna Maria Capaldi of Marlboro, MA, William Ciocca & wife Ronda of Dennis, MA, and Angela Ciocca Peloquin of Westfield, brother, Antonio Midea & wife Ursula, sister, Rosina Ficarra & husband Domenico, sisters-in-law, Dolores Fantone & Filomena Ciocca. Angela was blessed with and will be dearly missed by her 9 grandchildren, Michael & wife Mariesa, Matthew & wife Michelle, Christopher & wife Élena, Jacqueline & fiancé Stuart, Nicholas & wife Jessica, Cristina & husband Alfonso, Andrew, John & Isabella, and 12 great-grandchildren, Stella, Gianna, Sofia, Anthony, Angelo, Olivia, Lucia, Juliana, Luca, Graham, Ella & Maxwell.
Angela’s wake will be Friday, January 3, from 5-7 p.m at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield. Her funeral will begin Saturday, 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home proceeding to Angela’s 11:00 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
