Angelina C. Morisi

Angelina C. (Scolari) Morisi, 101, was called home on October 1, 2024. Born April 20, 1923, she was the daughter of the late, Frank and Florinda (Melari) Scolari.

A lifelong resident of Longmeadow, Angelina graduated from the High School of Commerce and St. John’s Business School, then worked at Van Norman as a bookkeeper. She later worked as a bookkeeper for G. W. Morisi Insurance Agency, a business owned and operated by her husband George. In addition, for a number of years she volunteered and ran the gift shop at Wesson Women’s Hospital.

Angelina was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Longmeadow and a member of their Women’s Guild. She and her husband were charter members of Twin Hills Country Club and both were avid golfers. Her summers were spent at Little Alum Lake with family. Friends were always welcomed with a wonderful meal. Winters were spent on Hutchison Island, Florida.

Angelina was predeceased by her beloved husband, George W. Morisi, grandson, David Gatti, and sister, Enis Bibeau & husband Norman.

She leaves behind her daughter, Ann Gatti & husband Peter of Wilbraham, son, Mark Morisi & wife Laurie of Longmeadow, cherished granddaughters, Krista Sullivan & husband Rory of Wilbraham, Angelina Morisi & husband Keith Chapman of Lenox and Julia Morisi of Newport, RI, adored great-grandsons, Peyton & Connor Sullivan, and nephews, Norman & David Bibeau.

A special thank you goes to the wonderful caregivers, staff, and residents of Ruth’s House who created a warm, friendly home for the last 4 years of Angelina’s life. Also, to the Jewish Nursing Home for the comfort and compassion expressed during her final stage of life.

All are invited to visit on Tuesday, October 8th from 9-10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow Street. Angelina’s Liturgy of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30, proceeding to her burial at Longmeadow Cemetery.
