Eleanor (Gareffa) Stirlacci, 94, passed away on January 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Natale & Theresa (Neri) Gareffa.
For many years, Ellie welcomed clients into her home on South Branch Parkway, where her hair salon, Styles by Ellie, was more than just a place of styling; it was a space filled with laughter, conversation and friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Ellie had a passion for painting, finding peace and expression in every brushstroke. She enjoyed painting for others and her artwork was a reflection of her creativity and love for life.
Ellie found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. Whether preparing Sunday dinners, enjoying the warmth of the sun on a summer afternoon, or simply being in the presence of those she loved most, family was the heart of her world.
Her kindness, creativity and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ellie is survived by her children, Debra D’Amour (Jim) of Hampden, Ralph Stirlacci (Rosanne) of Springfield, Joseph Stirlacci (Nancy) of San Mateo, CA, and Tiffany Senecal of Westfield, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Ellie was predeceased by her loving husband, Ralph A. Stirlacci, Jr., and son-in-law, Donald Senecal.
Ellie’s Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m., preceded by a calling hour starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 123 William Street in Springfield, proceeding to her burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
