Mary L. Mastroianni

Mary Lillian (Roberge) Mastroianni, 94, of Agawam, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2019. Mary was born in Palmer, MA to Leo & Lillian Roberge. Educated in Palmer schools, Mary went on to work at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Springfield for over 50 years into her nineties. Along with running the office, Mary was the organist and took on the role of Choir Director after the passing of the previous director, her husband Albert, in 1997. A devoted wife and mother, Mary also staged church Christmas musicals, bingo night, was a soloist with the Springfield Opera and organized group trips to Italy. An avid reader, Mary enjoyed buying books at tag sales for herself and for the many children to whom she’d give them. If that wasn’t enough, Mary was very generous and made baby clothes & blankets for a medical clinic in Cambodia. Mary will be dearly missed by her son Chris, his wife Susan & their dog Chester of Southwick, sister Betty Hatch & husband Richard of FL, and several nieces & nephews. Sadly, along with her husband Albert of 54 years, Mary was pre- deceased by brothers Kenneth & Leo Roberge, and sisters Anne Hitchcock & Marjorie Gravel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday morning, June 26, 10AM at Mt. Carmel Church with a private burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery. ln lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s memory to, Mt. Carmel Church Parish Center Fund, 123 William St., Springfield, MA 01105. Please visit www.TazziniFuneralHome.com to sign Mary’s guestbook.
